Something in the sky tonight?

Just caught the end of it on the winnipeg news at noon... is there a planet or something that will be visible in the sky tonight? The weather guy was saying it will be a clear night, perfect for viewing. If anyone could clear this up for me it would be greatly appreciated, would like to have a look!
