Was just thinking about Christmas and it brought me back to my favorite Christmas.  
 
I was around 10 and my mother was doing the Christmas baking, something we all take for granted when we are young lol. The smells and the radio playing carols. Mom humming a tune, didn’t find out till much later that she had a beautiful voice for singing.  
We were having the entire family over for this Christmas, grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and friends of the family. We had punch and all kinds of Christmas goodness. It was Christmas eve and had a party, everyone was invited. We had a Santa come in and all the children had to sit on his lap and tell him what we wanted. I never realized how much this would stay with me for the rest of my life. Christmas morning we get up and the stocking were overflowing. gifts under the tree for all. We were only allowed to open our gifts after we eat breakfast, but the stockings were ours as soon as we woke up lol. Stuffed smurfs, chocolate goodies, and simple toys. To us that alone was the best part lol, just the stockings.  
 
I must say we were not spoiled or rich. My mother God bless her, started buying gifts for us on boxing day the previous yr. She told me when I was older that she wanted one magical Christmas, and to us and the rest of the family she was the real Santa. She simply wanted to see her family have just one. Ill never forget the smile on my Mom or Dads face.  
 
That’s my best memory and to this day I always feel my best when I can put that same smile on anyone’s face.
