BU to outlaw sale of bottled water
12/11/2009 at 10:23 AM
It looks like BU is on its way to becoming the third Canadian university to ban the distribution and sale of bottled water on campus.
There will be an event on Thursday to make it official, but my understanding is that they're already pretty much committed to no longer selling water as soon as current supply runs out.
Reason being the environmental impact and the issue of selling a public commodity. As a free alternative, there are fountains throughout campus and my understanding is that they may be looking at adding additional fountains.
Good idea? Bad idea? Should more local institutions such as ACC and the Keystone Centre follow suit?
