This year Neelin high school will be holding a food drive. All food contributed will be donated to Samaritan House Ministries Brandon. Any donations will be accepted in the main entrance and in the library of Neelin School. This food drive is run my the grade nine's after they had all read books or memoirs about issues in places like Darfur and Sierra Leone. After reading these books many of the students felt obligated to help out our very own community. It is a fact that 43% of people in Brandon who access the Samaritan House Ministries are children. Any donations will be accepted until Thursday the 17th at Neelin. Friday the 18th at 11:15 we will present the donated food and household items to Samaritan House.Here are the top ten household and food items that food banks need the most:  
1.Canned meat and fish  
2.Baby food and Baby formula  
3.Cereal  
4.Rice  
5.Dry Pasta  
6.Canned fruit and vegetables  
7.Canned Soup  
8.Canned stews  
9.Peanut Butter  
10.Spaghetti Sauce  
Some household items that are always in short supply include:  
1.Pots and Pans  
2.clocks  
3.sheets and towels  
4.Baby Diapers  
5.Toilet Paper  
6.Dish Soap  
7.Shampoo/Conditioner
