Is this Normal!?

I've encountered this over my years, and I'm now 20 years old and it still gets to me.
Does anyone else get rather anxious or scared when you need to go for a dinner or meal with like 64 people there also?
Around family I'm fine, but when around people I hardly know...I get very anxious and heart starts racing...is this normal!?
