But I thought of a better idea. I have an unused apartment size washer and dryer. I don't mean "new", just idle. They are sitting in my back porch- unneeded since I now have full size versions. They need no special plumbing (the washer hooks up to a sink), or wiring (the dryer is a standard plug-in). They are not suitable for a big family but would do the trick for a couple or an adult and (maybe) 2 kids.  
I used them as a single adult- my kids have grown and are on their own- but something like this would have been great when they were young (as opposed to the laundromat).  
I'll give them to the best nominee, and I'd like all the eBrandonites to think of what they could also offer to someone who needs it.  
I think this could be a way of helping the community and I hope this takes off.
