Why the strain on resources for venues?

Our award winning LG Festival is the single largest winter event (besides the Wheat Kings) that happens in this city. Where is the support of the City, Chamber of Comerce, Keystone, Brandon Sun & others in supporting this event that has so much potential to continue to grow with continuing enjoyment for those of us who attend and pride to those provide the entertainment. We as Westman & Manitoba residents have invested generously in the Keystone center that was intended as a venue for events like this, but in the course of meeting the operating budget, it apparently got sold out from under us!! What a shame!
Having been to Minot, N.D. to their Hostfest, we've been able to enjoy & appreciate what can be accomplished(over time!) with this type of community based function. This is an opportunity that has a wealth of potential that is struggeling and deserves a lot more support than it is recieving from our community leaders(CofC & City). Get it into the Keystone before it is lost and added to the growing list of things that Brandon used to have! Many volunteers who put a lot of time & effort to do the best they can under trying conditions (in some cases). Why are the pavilions spread over the city with challenges for parking and line-ups at doors on sub-zero temps. Line-ups result from lack of seating space in most pavilions. This could easily be rectfied by moving it into the community facility that we have paid for to facilitate for this type of event. If some group has has made this impossible through past negotiation, now is the time to FIX IT!
