The Basic Needs...
2/28/2010 at 9:54 AM
As it has been pointed out on the Poverty issues thread, that there is a need for change.
There are people whom are living below the stanards we expect in Canada!
Everyone has the same basic needs to survive, but what are the needs you must meet in your life to be able to live, to feed your family, pay your basic bills like rent or mortgage without cutting into the food budget? Without the stress of living in constant worry about finances, without, as one person mentioned, being so stressed that it could land you in the hospital, for one of many possible physical reactions to stress?
What I would like is for everyone to sit, and think about how much the cost of life is, break it down to the most basic amount that a family could live on. Give an estimate of what you think the average 2 adult, 2 children (ten, years of age, twin boys, for arguements sake) would need to live, in Brandon, without the parents having an undue amount of stress.
Does not matter where the funds are from, just a number as to the costs.
I think it would be interesting to see everyone's awnsers and maybe get a general idea of what the average persons thoughts are as to standard of living.
