Full-time CBC reporter back in Brandon

A topic that often came up on eBrandon in the weeks and months after CKX's closure was the lack of a CBC reporter in Brandon to help bring our stories to the province and country. They had previously maintained an office on Princess Ave and staffed it with a full-time reporter, but the position had remained vacant and the office closed for over a year.
For anyone that isn't aware, as of March 1 CBC has been back in this community with a full-time Brandon/Westman reporter by the name of Brady Strachan.
I had a chance to meet Brady at the Stephen Harper event last week. A bit more info for anyone that's interested...
- CBC's local office is now in the Culinary Arts building on the ACC north hill campus.
- They are mainly setup to do radio for CBC Radio 1, but have the necessary gear to do TV stories that would feed back to Winnipeg as well. Based on radio and TV coverage you will see local stories such as this one picked up by CBC's website:
http://www.cbc.ca/canada/manitoba/story/2010/03/14/man-montgomery-parade-russell.html - Brady has Manitoba roots, having grown up in Carman. Previously he was with Global Okanagan as a TV reporter and has a background in the Agriculture program at U of M.
I'd like to welcome Brady and CBC to the community and look forward to the added media diversity that will come from having a national network presense in Westman once again. For anyone that has story ideas, the e-mail address to contact is brady.strachan@cbc.ca
