Every morning I stop at my neighborhood 7-11 to pick up a coffee (in my reusable cup) on my way to work. This morning, one of the employees was putting the leftover newspapers from yesterday into the garbage can outside. I teasingly said "that's the recycle bin, right?" He went on to tell me that 7-11 does not recycle. They do not have a recycle bin at all! Holy crap! An international company like 7-11? Imagine how much recycling they throw into the garbage every day.  
 
Discussion continued about this when our recycling service showed up at the office. Many of my fellow co-workers volunteer with various organizations, and I was told that businesses such as the Victoria Inn do not recycle, as well as several others in the Brandon area. WOW!!!! Think about it - restaurants, stores, hotels, all that recycling!  
 
I can certainly understand how the small businessman can not afford a recycling service - however, there are still drop off bins in Brandon....its just a little more work, but it is so worth it when you consider our future generations and the life of our planet!  
 
This is a call to everyone!!! Please please please recycle and encourage others to do the same. I have a beautiful granddaughter now, and I don't want her to spend her life wading in our mess.  
 
Don't forget to turn off your lights for an hour tomorrow! Let's all learn to love our city - our country - our planet! It starts with YOU!
