If you live in the North end and have young kids... find out who their friends are.

Around 5:00 PM yesterday I was driving down Stickney, and there were about 10-12 kids in the playground area at the North End Community Centre. I'm driving by and as I see a boy bringing his arm up to throw something, I realize it's too late to avoid and he hits my car with a rock.
I pulled over and hopped out. The majority of the kids were young girls aged as young as 6 I'd say up to 12-13 years old. The boy who threw the rock was probably 13 years old (I'm guessing the oldest there), about 5' tall, first nations, and had a dark blue and black hoody. Race has nothing to do with this, other than identifying the boy.
I didn't think I'd get it, but I thought I'd try to ask the girls what his name was. He ended up trying to blame it on some other guys who had run away or something, but I saw the rock leave his hand.
Anyway, I called the police and gave the information and was told they could do patrols.
Now, I say to find out who your kids friends are, because most of the kids (Caucasian and First Nations) looked like they came from normal families who had simply met some other new kids who are not worth their time, and who you wouldn't want them hanging around.
If the older boy had thrown the rock at someone who loses their temper easily he could have fared way worse than he did as well, especially considering how arrogant he was.
I understand the whole boys will be boys thing, believe me, I did stupid things when I was young - but even I knew at that age how pathetic vandalism is. Don't let your kids hang out with people that don't understand this.
