Omens, silly question probly

Does anyone believe in omens? In the last 25 years I've found at five or six rings and wonder if its an omen.It certainly does not pertain to marriage (it appears) as I've been divorced for thirty years and yet have to meet my soul mate.
Any thoughts, and no sarcasm please. Thank you.
