I was appalled recently when, waiting to pick up my 6 year old son from JR Reid, someone talking on a cell phone, driving a white hummer did not slow down one bit while speeding past the school patrols after school on 26th Street.  
 
The school patrols on 26th Street stand on a slim slab of concrete in between 4 fast moving lanes of traffic. Isn't it common sense to slow down?  
 
Like Calgary, there should be a law in place that requires drivers to slow to 30km/hour in school zones.  
 
Why isn't there a law like this here? Do city officials need to wait until a child is hit or run over?  
 
All drivers have to slow down to 30km/hour in school zones IMMEDIATELY!
