Ok so this one is simple, don't lie when it comes to selling items from your classified ads.
A couple of weeks ago, I purchased a car seat from ebrandon, my husband drove out of town to pick it up. The lady he bought it off of, told him right to his face,"oh yes I washed it and cleaned it", and I'm sorry to say he didn't question it (possibly being maybe a man thing???). He brought it home and because we didn't need it immediately, our daughter is just now growing out of her infant carrier, and left it on the deck for the night and brought it in the house the next day cause it was raining. And there it's been sitting for about 2 weeks.
So, today I decided it was the day to switch the car seat for the bigger one we just bought. But to my surprise, the car seat was disgusting!!! I mean really gross. The fabric reeked of sour milk and being black you can't really see where it once was wet. Oh and it gets better, when I turned over the car seat to attempt to remove the fabric, a bunch of crackers, chips and worms, some still alive living on the bits of chips and crackers and sour milk fell out. I almost puked!!!! My 4 yr old son came in the kitchen to see what I was doing and even he was grossed out. I ended up taking everything off, throwing the fabric in the washing machine and cleaning it with Lysol disinfectant wipes, 10 of them to be exact. At one point, I cleaned up a puddle, I guess that's the best thing to call it, and my son asked me if it was poop, cause it sure looked like it!!
I know some might be thinking it's really not that big of a deal but it kinda is. First , don't lie and say you did something and you didn't. Have the balls to say, " you know I haven't had a chance to clean it yet.' Secondly, why should I or anyone who buys anything HAVE to clean something that should have been done in the first place. So, please if you are either selling or plan on selling a car seat or anything else, have the courtesy to clean or wash it first.
In hindsight, the night it got rained on was probably the first time that car seat ever saw clean water :op
