NSF cheque posters

I have noticed in some small town stores and gas stations these posters with copies of bounced cheques and the peoples names in bold letters. Just got me wondering why anyone would let their name stay up there? If that ever happened to me I would be so ashamed I would go in and pay it back immediately, even if it meant not having gas for a week. Some of these have been up there for months and still unpaid.
