While I haven't followed politics in Newfoundland & Labrador since I left in 1999, it seems that you're hard pressed to find many people in back home that don't like the man or what he has done for Newfoundland.  
 
I'm sure many are saddened that Danny will be leaving his position.  
 
The main reason why I posted this is that there are many politicians throughout Canada that could learn a lot from him. The main factor IMHO seems he has been brutally honest with the people of Newfoundland and Labrador throughout his career as premier, and I think that is key, as honesty and politics are two words that seem to have NOT gone together in politics for as long as I can remember.  
 
Without doubt, Danny Williams will go down as one of the best premiers in history.
