Why insist on the risk???

Lately I can't look at the news without hearing about car accidents and all of the people that have been tragically killed or injured. There has been a thread on here, started by someone who was angry with other drivers for slowing down. I would honestly like to know why some of you are so against slowing down in less than ideal road conditions. Is getting there 10 minutes earlier really worth the risk? I honestly just don't get it!
