Does anybody know how to go about finding a rent to own house perferable in the country and not to far from bdn?

Are you looking for? And how far from Brandon do you want to go? Does it have to be in "the country" or just a small town?

Its only my hubby and i so even a one bedroom or 2 it doesnt matter.. I say country cause we have animals. We live in the country by rivers now and its just to far out as i work in bdn and dont drive

What is your price range? How many acres of land do you need/want?

that much land really.. just a big enough yard for our dogs.. Proce range at this moment would be 600 a month..Hubby just had ankle surgery yesturday so when he goes back to work in a month or so it will be higher

I would think it would be tough to find anywhere to rent a house for that little a month... Let alone a rent to own situation

I agree, you wouldn't be able to pay a mortgage with 600 a month. There are also property taxes, utilities and insurance on top of that. We had considered selling our house under that type of arrangement and to meet your requirements, you are likely looking at 1000-1200 a month, not including the extra expenses.

Talk to a bank or real estate agent I think your going to be disappointed in the cost of rent to own and for a place in the "country"  
with just a yard your looking at 250 to 300k  
for a fixer upper housing costs are not what they used to be

I did a rent-to-own, just 22 minutes south of the city. I paid $500 a month...but the owners assumed the mortgage for me, and I paid them instead of bank. When it was done, they signed the deed to me in front of lawyer. I think I paid in total was $15K for a fixer upper on three lots. Taxes only about $130 a year. Wish I kept it. That was a few years back. Just have to talk around a community and ask questions. Some people are just sitting on a property and don't have time to advertise or upkeep it.

imo you need to learn to drive, unless you live in the city it is an absolute necessary skill that will open up your prospects and choices sooo much more  
 
im not sure what you do for a living but i have seen houses for sale within an hour of brandon for as low as 75k, that makes the payments around $350 a month so you would still have cash for insurance and taxes and stuff. many of these towns have decent paying jobs in health care or schools or even a restaurant to work at which would allow you enough money to live off. have a cheap car and you can still go into brandon at least once a month for to get out + life is a bit cheaper in small towns taxes are cheaper, entertainment is cheaper as long as you keep your running around down you can live a comfortable life ....but you kinda need to be able to drive

im in the process of getting my lisence but i didnt work for a long time so that was hard to do. But i cant get a loa or anything from the bank so its not that easy

well then in your circumstances you cant really expect to own yet but it is a worthwhile goal  
 
getting a license at the same time you build a good credit rating and work on your income will be a good step in the right direction, start saving for a down payment for a car in your budget first then work you way up. Just remember things dont happen over night so dont get discouraged, with hard work and perseverance you can make your situation what you want it
