when people say someone thoughts or ideas are invalid because they might have a big house or a lot of money. David Suzuki may not be perfect, no one is, but he sure has done a hell of a lot for the environment and for interest in science and many other things in Canada, and for that I think he deserves plenty of credit.

I was thinking the same thing. We used to watch his shows and specials and really admired his intelligence.  
 
Now there seems to be a lot of hypocrisy about the way he lives his life and the last couple of articles I read of his seemed very much narrow minded and closed off to others' opinions.  
 
To each his own I guess.

what has he done for the environment??  

First off there are many things that I would never agree with when it comes to Mr. Suzuki, but when I see a question like the one presented by SJK I have to answer with one word. The word would be awareness, there have been times when we have ignored many little things until someone brings it to our attention.

I too may not be 100% in agreement with everything that David Suzuki says or does, but his tireless activism for the protection of the environment and encouraging sustainable living is commendable. One only has to look at the projects and goals of the Suzuki foundation projects to see what he is "doing for the environment". He has encouraged dialogue, and whether his involvement is through research, or through activism is irrelevant.  
 
Some people wont be happy unless he does that barefoot and on horseback.

Event is coming up! I'm glad to see quite a few tickets have sold, and hopefully more, Winnipeg was sold out, we are fortunate to get to hear him in Brandon.

"get out the vote", he might have a bigger audience if he wasn't charging to hear him speak! And yes, I know it is a fund raiser.  
 
Don't know too much about Suzuki, what is his political ideology? Is it NDP?
