I recently found out that the BPS Monster Mash is being held on Tuesday and not Halloween night which is actually Saturday. Isn't the whole point of having this event to give the youth something to do and to keep those who tend to wander to the trick side of Halloween occupied? Don't get me wrong, I'm sure the youth will still attend on Tuesday, but Brandonites including BPS should be prepared for a busier and more eventful Halloween night. My opinion anyway.....

I imagine it has to do with booking, the Keystone has the Ag Ex from Oct. 29th to Oct. 31.

I always thought the point of holding the Monster Mash was to give an alternative to walking the streets on Halloween. It looks like this year both options are available.

mild weather we are experiencing right now. Police state that there is no plans to have extra officers working Halloween night, given all the vandalism we have in our neighbourhood and others I hope that's not the truth!  
 
More cops working that night not less please!

Article in Saturday's Brandon Sun says Police were offered UCT pavilion for Halloween but rejected it and opted for that room on the 27th instead

The police don't have to put this on, so I think people should be grateful for such a successful event whenever they choose to hold the event. Kudos to Monster Mash!

I've seen a few posts about this being changed and being for older kids, but what is it?

Manitoba Ag Ex is only in the barns and ACE arena so that wouldn't interfere with the Monster Mash at all.  
Plenty of room for more events in the Keystone during Ag Ex.

"Prepare for the worst" what a ridiculous fear mongering comment. An entire society that's afraid of everything. Please monitor the police reports on Halloween and compare with the near riots downtown in the late 70's

When I was in grade 12, our grad class offered a sort of "guarding" service where grads would watch buisnesses halloween night for a small fee, and do clean up if vandalism happened. Was a good fundraiser, it kept the businesses safe, and us out of trouble. Is that something the schools here in brandon can offer?

Came across this link via the news page and thought I'd share in this thread (bps release pasted below). From bps, record number of attendees and Halloween night itself was relatively quiet in terms of calls.....

On behalf of the Brandon Police Service, we wish to convey sincere thank you for your very generous contribution to our annual Brandon Police Service Monster Mash event held on October 27st, 2015. Although the event was not on October 31st, a record number of Brandon and area youth, totaling over 900 attended this year’s event! As far as the police service is concerned not having the Monster Mash on the 31st did not affect the calls for service as Halloween was relatively quiet.  
 
The annual Monster Mash would not happen without the generous support of community partners. Thank you again for your thoughtful contribution.
