We recently got a pellet stove givin to us due to our house being super cold in the winter.. But we have no piping for it. Does anybody have pellet stove piping they are not using that is still good. I cannot afford to spend 400.00 on a new kit. Thanks

Check with your insurance provider before installing , there are lots of regulations not to mention the added costs, 400.00 for the kit is the cheap part.  

Our landlord said we could go ahead and install it. My boyfriend can do that. We just cannot afford 500 for the kit

Just a thought.....I know people with pellet stoves and when it is cold they are going through a bag to a bag and a half easily when it is cold out. At say $5 bucks a bag...you could be paying a lot in pellets. Many use it as a supplement heat. If your landlord is going to allow it as it will probably end up staying in the house after you move, why doesn't the landlord pay for the pipe? Also do check with insurance.....I would bet money that it will increase too and they will want it installed correctly. Would you really trust some person's used stove piping? Unless I was building an ice fishing shack I would be putting in new tubing in my home if going that route. Maybe the landlord should look at the hydro insulation program to better insulate your house. I would be keeping an eye out for a better insulated home to live in as a back up.

We considered a wood stove , or pellet stove for our garage, we called our insurance company and were told had to be installed by a certified installer as there are regulations for wood stoves and as well our insurance goes up 25 percent and so after all considered it was not worth it. A infrered heater is a lot less money and have heard good things about them.  

We live in the country.. we are surrounded by open feilds.. We tryed infrared heaters last winter and they didnt do really anything.

im not sure if you do already but plastic your windows, check all the weather stripping and put bails or snow or both around your foundation to help keep the heat in  
 
sounds like your house defiantly needs the hydro retrofit program, look into that, maybe your landlord will help with thoes up grades to keep you in the house, he buys the supplies and gets the grant and you do the work maybe, we did that years ago, for own own house, and the grants paid for the materials so it cost us nothing doing the work ourselves
