Found out many vendors in Brandon sold out of resident deer licenses. Manitoba Conservation does have resident deer licenses. Call them or go to their office, they're open until 4:30 pm.

Just stopped there on my way to work this morning and picked one up, definitely not sold out there.

I was in to JO Brooks and Home Hardware for something else and overheard customers in both places unsuccessfully looking for licenses. Home Hardware said they would be getting them any time (obviously they are there now. A Friend called all over Brandon earlier in the week, found a few at Walmart, and they were sold by the time he got there.  
The whole hunting licence system needs to be looked at IMO. The vendors get diddly out of them and have to pay for them all up front, out the money until they are sold. This is a much bigger factor in small towns where they might only sell a few of each (bird, archery etc) As well, I think there should be a supply at the local game branch office that can be moved to a business if this happens. Some of these concerns have been brought to the government by local clubs but it seems the problem is getting worse.

Online licensing is way overdue in Manitoba !!  
 
I think we will see it soon. They are test driving a program for a couple of licences

And I've heard that there are a lot of cougars on the prowl... but I didn't realize licence was required.
