It says in red letters on the website that the tickets are non-refundable. It is not fair to expect an organization to refund tickets that are clearly non-refundable!

Could you point me to where it says that? I still can't find any mention of it on our physical tickets or on the website. If you'd read my earlier post, I clearly stated that.

That was not there when I phoned yesterday morning and made my complaint. They've clearly updated it and I have screenshots to prove it.

Go to the website, click under social and it shows a big picture of the guy performing. Scroll down and it talks about the rules of the social or whatever and in red font says tickets are non refundable.

As Annetta posted, is written in red. Your original post made no mention of being unable to find mention of refundability.

They had Autumn Hill booked as the entertainment and since changed. You're right, as someone else pointed out, in my frustration, I forgot to write that we had checked thoroughly through the tickets we received via e-mail and online through the website and could find no statement outlining no refunds. Had it stated that, we wouldn't have bothered phoning as we would've, clearly, been in the wrong and I'm happy to accept that. The website has clearly been updated since yesterday and I've attached the screenshots.

I agree there was an oversight involved with what I originally posted but there was no money exchanged or services promised. I understand that bands drop in/drop out all the time, that's why a refund shouldn't come as a shock or be treated as something hostile. There are plenty of these social tickets still available so unfortunately no one is going to buy one posted on here.

look at the screenshots. Also, completely different circumstances. No refunds because of dangerous/stupid behaviour is one thing, asking because the entertainment changed is something else.

Depends on your asking price. Offer a small discount and I'm sure they will sell. Or just go and have a great time.

but that's the problem. I have the tickets listed and no one's touched them. I have no interest in seeing the musician, although I'm sure he's great. It's just terrible business practice to refuse refunds for something like this. Honestly, it's the first time I've ever dealt with refusal on the provider's part.

The tickets were sold for the 'social' not for a 'concert'. Are social tickets generally refundable? I personally wouldn't expect so, but maybe I am mistaken. If a band cancels a concert, I would expect a refund or alternate ticket, but not for a social.

how i read Trevors statement is that SINCE they state no refunds for bad behavior explicitly it makes it sound like there would be for other reasons  
 
imho i think change of performer should be a reason to issue a refund as the person you bought for is no longer playing and you may not have interest in going to see the replacement  
 
if the no refund clause was added after you bought then i would say the rule doesnt apply to your tickets, im not sure what the laws are for these things but i did think sales had to state no refund as to not would be bad business practice and almost fraud,it also seems very slimy to change the website after the fact, if that is indeed what happened also the bad thing about digital advertisements now  
 
anyway i would still appeal to ACC sun of a beach and to the BBB or whoever else is the authority on these types of events, with your proof and see what happens, unless it was written in fine print somewhere and they just made it clearer then i would say you have a valid complaint  
 
unfortunately sometimes there is nothing you can do but never support the organization again but hopefully they learn their lesson too and make the conditions of sale clearer

Just so you know, screenshots will never be accepted as evidence because of how easily they can be altered. It would have taken less than 5 seconds to make the screenshot you posted.

I agree. I think the entertainment is reasonable grounds to change since I know that that's the main reason why many people go. But maybe to protect their money, that's exactly why they've since added that clause.

for your reply. I'm in complete agreement and won't be supporting this fundraiser again which is too bad. I really enjoyed it last time!

That's interesting, but I'm not sure why you're using that as an example. The entertainment changed. Every concert/event I've ever been to, change to entertainment warranted a refund. It's like telling someone who ordered a beer that you're out, but forcing them to instead have a glass of water.

Except that it's not a concert. It's a social with entertainment.

But the entertainment is what draws people. Anyone with any kind of reason understands that.

they may bill it as a social but this is no small town social, sun of a beach has been an annual event for years and they do promote the entertainers so not really the same  
 
even if they were just because other socials dont generally issue a refund (which honestly IDK is true since most are small affairs in a local town and refund requests would be dealt with privately on an individual hosts basis) i do believe ACCs sun of a beach should be held to a higher standard, they should have the experience by now to act like a normal business and make sure all their i's are dotted and t's crossed legally and should also know that a major change in entertainer is going to be a negative for some  
 
 
as for what ticket master states on their site is mute, unless ticket master is selling the tickets then their policies dont matter, except for the fact that they clearly state their policies which ACC better get on top of

Not wanting to cast any aspersions to your honesty, I noticed the "Paint" App is pictured on your screen shot.  
 
If you only just knew enough how to make a screenshot, it seems odd you would have the "Paint" icon open.  
 
Not saying the original website has not been changed, but I found this to be a curious observation.

you obviously want to because you just did..? That's the only application I knew how to "paste" the screenshot in.

you could just be happy that you at least helped them put on this event for another year. Just because you bought a ticket doesn't mean you have to go. Now just think of the money you get to save by not going and buying drinks all night with your hard earned money. Complaining on here only makes you look silly. Take it up with them, not eBrandon!!

I'm really not sure how this post is any different than anyone else mentioning their local troubles, cam, but I think a business/charity's lack of business ethics is a good thing to air. Ebrandon is a forum, if you haven't noticed. That's what goes on here.
