    Question: when starting a new job and a criminal record check is required does it matter where you get it from? Whether it is from your home town or not? I work in Brandon and am from a small town, unable to go to my local police station during the day to get one done, wondering if I can just go to the one in Brandon?

    It probably doesn't matter, you could always just go and ask to make sure. I'm sure they look at the same databases

    It will depend on your local address. Wherever that may be is where you will most likely have to get it done. I'm 100% from personal experience that BPS won't do it for you if you don't have a Brandon address. But the local RCMP station on the low road may do it, since in any other small MB town the RCMP will be doing it anyways. Hope this helps.

    The cost may play a factor for you. At BPS they're $34.50 and with the RCMP they are usually Free, $10 or $15.

    The address on your ID's is what will determine where you can get it done. If you live inside Brandon RCMP will not do your record check. This is from personal experience
