I'm thinking of upgrading my bike. A couple have caught my eye.  
2008 low rider. 30,000km. 96". Six speed. Stage one  
2005 deuce 35,000km. 88". Stage one  
Does anyone have any knowledge or opinions about these bikes

depends on your riding,long distance or not either one is good personally out of the 2 I would pick the low rider.I know a couple of people in the US that have both an neither has anything bad to say about either one.The specs on these 2 are very close for seat height and weight the only diff is engine size an trans 5spd verses 6 spd

They're two very similar bikes. Most things being equal between them, you're really comparing engine and trans, and the 96 is just a bigger version of the 88. With the 6 speed the 96 will likely run a bit lower rpm down the road. As far as power to the ground, from a dead stop the 96 should pull away. Top gear roll ons should be a dead heat, or the 88 might even pull away because of the 5spd vs the 6spd, I don't know the gear ratios.  
 
Of course neither will have the power or the reliability of a similar sized metric bike. Sorry, couldn't help myself lol!

he was asking about a harley not a metric not saying there is anything wrong with metric my wife rides one.My Harley has been very reliable.how many thirty year plus metrics are still out there?

why do you bother commenting on nearly every discussion that comes up it is of no value to anyone you don't own a harley or as you obliously don't know anything about them please keep your comments to yourself or tell them to your wife while riding tin can

you just said in your message that that harleys don't have the power or reliabilty well i've been riding them for 40+ yrs.from coast to coast and i personally am sick and tired of punks like you beaking off

Thanks for the info guys. I didn't want to see any bashing on this subject so those that did or are thinking of doing can sign off now.  
I think the low rider will be the one

good choice in this case bigger is better my latest bike has a six speed trany and i love it you might want to check out chopper exchange they have have thousands of bikes for sale online the majoritity of them dealers which makes it total safe i know many people who have bought off there never a problem

It really comes down to which you prefer.  
 
Personally the bigger engine and the 6spd is the way I would go. That highway gear will save you in the long run both in pocket book and buttocks.  
 
And Trevor did make some good points. He just threw a jab at Harleys at the end.

you wont regret buying that one.Enjoy your new ride hopefully spring be here early this year and you can get out on it as soon as possible.  
not every one wants a Harley just like not everyone wants a Chevy its called freedom of choice or to each there own.
