So I was at a local store today and notice some very nice furniture outside a store closer to the one I was at..... I checked out the couch and there absolutly nothing wrong with it! Is it illegal to take it since it's by the dumpster?

maybe it was dumped because it has bed bugs. This may not be the case, but be very careful about what you take into your home. I guess if the store dumped it and its ok with them, then it wouldn't be theft.

if that sofa had bed bug would the whole store not  
 
i have seen the funiture out of this store and have thought the same thing

Checking with the furniture store might be the first thought.  
 
It might have been a new set scheduled for delivery.  
 
A person shouldn't take anything not belonging to them unless you ask about it.

someone may have dumped it there knowing the store's dumpster is taken away on a regular basis. That was my concern about bed bugs, plus who knows what might be sleeping in there, mice are always looking for a cozy home.

When they deliver the new... do they also not remove people's old furniture for them and dump it there ?

Again, checking with the furniture store first might be a common sense approach before lifting, taking or assuming.

If you are taking about the furniture store in the north west corner of the corral center, I have been told (rumour, not from staff) that the furniture you see by the dumpster, is from people who purchased new and want the old taken away. The store puts it by the dumpster to be taken to the dump, but most times people come take the old away for their use. Kind of like recycling.

I also saw this furniture outside a furniture store at the corral and as far as im concerned it was definitely earmarked for removal as the couches were standing upright. I would never steal something that belongs to someone but these couches were placed beside older, used stoves, washer, dryers. As far as im concerned if someone wanted them, they should go ahead and take them. Its far better to recycle them to have them in the landfill.
