I'm looking for some basic sewing lessons. I have an older machine and just need to know some good solid basics.

Are you wanting to go to many classes ? or do you want to just have a few with someone who is a seamstress of many years.. Do you have an idea of how much you would like to spend for this.... I offer short classes to beginners who would like to know some basics about a machine as well as material differences. My rates are reasonable......

The basics is what I'm hoping to learn. Cutting fabric properly would be a huge step! :b It sounds so easy and yet I am having trouble cutting simple rectangles that match up when it's time to sew them together.
I am hoping to have my new machine within a month and then would also love to have lessons on it so that I can learn how to use it to its fullest potential.

you could try ACC. I once took an evening class there. Went for maybe 8 weeks, that covered the basics.
