would assume you have reported to police already, if not do it asap. Sometimes the person that did it does call in to report it, but that is like a long shot at best these days. If the person reports it as a hit and run on their own car and you have reported as a hit and run MPI books those kinds of claims on certain days to try and match up likely claims to find who did it. This is why they take measurements of the damage. Some day karma will catch up with that person. In the end you are out $200/$300 or $500 bucks and your car get fixed. I feel for ya, I have had 3 hit and runs on my car, 1 of which was confusion on the part of the person that hit my car and we ended up getting it sorted out. Good luck
