For anyone in Brandon-East that may have received a flyer telling them that their voting location is Riverview Curling Club, please see the links below... it sounds like some incorrect information was sent out:

This is so unacceptable - not everyone has access to the internet - how are these citizens being informed of the CORRECT info???  
 

Sorry - but I am so bothered by this - I keep thinking of all the Seniors/Disabled citizens in this area - and for them NOT to have the correct data is unacceptable - causing confusion, hardship. WHY is this voting process causing unnecessary stress on those the most vulnerable in this province???? Again, not everyone has a Cell phone, nor internet - this needs to be further addressed!!!!

Why only those houses?  
 
Was it to every house on those streets, or just a select few (i.e. ones clearly voting for not the NDP)?  
 
Who was responsible for printing the wrong information?  
 
How do you even get the wrong information?

I advanced voted but I think our place to vote was listed on the enumeration paper. Anyone know?

We have heard of this happening before haven't we????? And I think someone was prosecuted in that case.  
 
My house was not even enumerated - that was just awesome. Luckily I know enough to know how to get the info on how and where to vote - but someone else made a good comment - with all the people that do not have access to the internet or limited English skills or what have you, what kind of impact will these mess ups have on the overall vote?

Was it Caldwell? The provincial organization? Doesn't an official agent need to veto this stuff? Did that happen? Or was it an overzealous volunteer? Who delivered it?

"Andrew Tod, NDP spokesman, said the flyers were sent to the wrong home in error.  
"A mistake was made, and incorrect information was left at 79 houses on three streets in Brandon East last night," Tod said. "The campaign realized the mistake late last night, corrected the information this morning, and apologized to the households affected."  
 
I'd think that all election advertising would probably have to be run through the Provincial body, but I'm not sure. Andrew Tod seems to be the Provincial NDP spokesperson.  
 
Question is "Who or what is 'The Campaign' always mentioned?  
 
All I know is that if I was a newcomer to Brandon and didn't know where to vote, it would be an inconvenience.  
 
I suppose someone's head is going to roll and it will soon come out who is responsible. I agree, Abbysmum.  
 
 
 
 
 

Also, I'm not sure how the enumeration process works and how often an enumerator must visit a residence before giving up.  
 
I was enumerated quite some time ago. I only came to the door in the mid-evening as I recognized the neighbourhood enumerator. Otherwise, I may not have answered the door

that's affected is known as The Landing just off Sycamore Dr.

That this was an honest mistake? Not being familiar with the area, are there several polling locations in Brandon East and this area was close to a dividing line?

could of been just the simple mistake of grabbing the wrong stack of flyers. It's interesting how they have to go to Bethal while those on Dreidger Bay go to Riverview CC.

Let's hope there is a large margin between the contenders, otherwise could create a real headache.  
And the conspiracy theories will be flying.

I honestly believe it was just a mistake on someone's part. And I'm not an NDP'er.

Im not an ndper either, and agree with kellye. Some one made a mistake, they corrected it by redistributing correct info and apologized. Time to show compassion and move on. People volunteer to deliver these flyers and all the parties have people volunteering to do this and help drive people to the polls.

It is ODD that only 79 homes were targeted. Clearly this is NOT something all homes in Brandon received - so could it be that some people were trying to hamper/playing mischief tactics??? I did not say "anyone" was responsible, nor did I imply "you or your friends" are liable........all I said, was my suspicion is struck - I have seen pranksters at work before - but like I said, Drew is on this - remember HE is professional! Did you read something else in my words Mr. Johnbisonbear??? lol

if there are any maps that show what area goes to what polling station and not sure how they determine who votes at what polling station. I can look out of my window at The Landing and I went to Riverview CC and they go to Bethel Christian Assembly. So where is the dividing line? And when I use the online page to find where My polling station is, it doesn't include my address.

While I don't share Drew's political affiliation, I don't think it's accurate to suggest he was indifferent toward the city of Brandon. It's few and far between the people that care for the well-being of our city as much as Drew.  
 
That said, I am glad to see the people have decided that change was needed.

I agree - change is always a good thing. It will be interesting to see how this party follows up - and the NDP now be the opposition.

Complacent would be a better description. I honestly think he and the NDP figured that Brandon East was a lock, no real effort required to win it. I think I had one NDP flyer in my mailbox. Len Isleifson knocked on my door himself and his people were there 4 other times. PC's hard work combined with Selingers lies sealed it.

directing voters but also using the Brandon Sun logo without their permission. That is a big NO-NO.
