A bank branch in Brandon does not count rolled change when it receives it and gives it out. I have been short almost every time buying rolls of change and are told by management its up to me to make sure the bank is not ripping me off?

So they are wanting you to unroll and count the $ in the bank, cause if you took it home and were missing some, how are you going to prove it wasn't there, they wouldn't believe you. I think that's scary, if every roll of loonies was missing 1 loonie, and they gave out 20 rolls a day being conservative, the bank would be out $20, and I am sure they would notice that end of day. There should be some safeguard in place to assure you are getting what you paid for, it would make me question if they are that careful with the rest of the currency in the bank, as well as customers personal accounts.

I have a hard time believing any bank doesn't count rolled coin. However I do believe human error happens, so to avoid being accidentally gipped I would definitely count it yourself!

As treasurer, when I receive rolled coins, I weigh them and compare them to one I rolled. Surely the banks could do something similar? I personally have never been shortchanged when getting rolls of coins.
