How much does your dentist charge for a check-up/cleaning and where do you go? I have to pay up front and claim the insurance myself and would like to know what the average brandonite pays. The one place I called said about $250.00 is that normal?

I recently paid approx that. $100 for X-rays, $100 for the cleaning and $50 for the dentist consultation.

My dentist is Dr. Yahiro -I really like my dentist - wouldn't go anywhere else. My last clean and check was almost a year ago and I paid almost $190. I've never had dental insurance - my employer did not offer it so have always paid the full cost myself.

I just had 2 x-rays, clean, fluoride and checkup- $242.

Don't you think it's a joke we pay insurance premiums every pay check. But when we go to use it we have to pay again and then wait to be reimbursed.

My husband and I just went to the dentist yesterday. It was $430 for us both...check up ,cleaning and X-rays!

just did a cleaning there with xrays and it was about $120.00. This did not include the panoramic xray however, just 4 regular xrays. The cleaning itself will depend on how long it takes to do the cleaning. This also included the dentist checking to make sure there were no cavities etc. I find the staff at this clinic to be very friendly and helpful and if any treatment is needed they discuss all options with you, they don't try to make you take the most expensive route. that is not your companies fault. That is the fault of the dentist yo does not want to direct bill. My dentist at Dr. Jackson's office will direct bill, so I don't pay up front.

I pay upfront for my dental work at my dental office. No big deal for me, I am setup direct deposit through my insurance. I see funds the next business day in my account from my insurance.  
 
As for cleanings, it varies based on how many x-rays are taken and how much is needed for cleanings.

I have Blue Cross coverage and they cover 80%. Westman Dental direct bills them and I just pay the balance. Have never had a problem.  
Also had an emergency visit once to Town Centre Dental and they did the same.  
Don't know why you would have to pay up front.

My husbands coverage is 100%, we don't pay up front at all. Cleanings is usually $150 for us but all depends what is needed.

Is where I go, I can't remember the exact cost but my benefits are the same but instead of paying up front I get the bill then send it my insurer then I pay when they reimburse me!
