I run a home based business which I just started and looking for advice on where to advertise I put an ad on ebrandon and Facebook

What line of "Business" are you into? It would depend on what type of business as to where you would advertise.

make up a poster/business cards/coupons and take them to pet related businesses around town. pet stores, vet clinics, dog parks, groomer shops, etc. target your key demographic.

Or the library and look for a book on guerilla marketing. Best book I ever got for unconventional low cost advertising.

perhaps said "It's pet related
Try making your own flyers or business cards and go visit the dog run areas or whatever they are called and hand out business cards
Visit pet food stores that have bulletin boards ask to post a flyer
Run an ad on ebrandon
Walk the blocks put flyers in mailboxes
Just a few ideas "

You can create your own visuals on your computer - save it on a disc/stick - go to Leech printing, and they can print it out for you - very cost efficient there as well.
