The telescope at BU is open for public viewing Sunday night from 9:30 to 11:00 PM.  
 
Park on Louis or in Lot 4. Enter the glass doors between the residence and cafeteria. Go past the security desk, through the red doors to McMaster Hall.

I was literally just talking about this with my 6 yr old today. Is there someone to contact to find out when I might be able to take him to check it out? Is this something they do often?

The roof of McMaster Hall is scheduled to be redone in June and there will be no access to the roof top telescope. There will be public nights using smaller portable telescopes. Possibly taking place in the BU Soccer field. Just have to watch the Facebook page for any updates.  
 
And with the roof work, the current decking will be removed. The replacement deck will hopefully be larger and have isolated telescope spots.

Hopefully, the deck will be finished in time for Mini U where the Astronomy students and their siblings and parents get invited to the Observatory.
