I don't deal there. Enough is enough, I can see where some gullible people would actually provide their info, there has to be a way to stop this. " |

And you are right, there has to be a lot of very gullible people still out there (or non English speaking), because the only way this will stop is if there tactics don't get at least one in a thousand.
I had the "CRA" message left on my voicemail the other day too. And it is very threatening and tries to be intimidating. But you can tell it is a recorded message for one, and it just makes no sense.
I got another scam call the other day which was different too - a 30 something male voice, no accent whatsoever, called and asked for my husband by name. He does not work out of my office, so I told the man that. He demanded (not politely asked) for his other phone number which of course I will not give out, especially if the person on the other end is rude and not known to me. He said he had just spoken to him about some truck parts and needed to speak with him today. I said I would be happy to take his number and have my husband call him back, but before I could even finished the sentence he had hung up.
I think the only way these will stop is if people talk and share the scams with others so that people are not caught off guard an don't fall for it.
Maybe eBrandon should have a "scam" heading at the top!! You know, one where people can share calls that they should be on the lookout for, both email, letters (how many people out there got the "you are the only known relation to this Prince from Saudi Arabia and he needs to share his money with you" letters??) Make sure all grandmas and pas and our less than English fluent friends know about the scams that are out there. I think that is the only way these will stop.
