Just received a call from 855-933-3526. It is a recorded message regarding my income tax. It is a scam but thought I would share the number. I doubt that Revenue Canada sends out recorded messages!

An answering device is gold in this day and age. The last thing I want is to get into a row with some turd scammer about how I owe money and I'm going to jail unless I send them 20k in Burger King gift cards.

They called my mom. Wasn't a recording. The guy told my mom she committed fraud on her income tax and she was going to jail if she didn't do what she was told. He reprimanded her for over a half hour to the point she was in tears. He had her believing that her tax guy screwed up her paperwork and she owed thousands of dollars. They told her if she hung up the phone they would have people at her door to come get her right away. She was sooo scared.  
Luckily he didn't ask for a credit card or banking information. The stupid fool told her to get in her car and go to Walmart, buy $2000 worth of iTunes cards and send him the info on them!  
Thank gawd that tipped her off and she told him she was calling the police.  
She did. The lady at the cop shop just confirmed it was a scam. That was all  
Left her extremely shaken thou.

Had the same thing happen to my dad. I hung up on them, they then called back claiming to be affiliated with the police and if we didn't talk to them they were sending the police to arrest us for fraud. I called the person who did his taxes and told her what happened, gave her the number they left and she dealt with it. Haven't heard from them since.

They are coming to lock me up any day now. lol  
 
Revenue Canada does not work this way. If there is a problem you will get a letter by mail.

We had one saying they were RCMP and collecting for bullying. RCMP don't solicit.  
 
2 in one day about the infected computer. Spouse answered both and he said he didn't have a computer and they didn't understand that. I have the computer, he doesn't know how to turn it off or on let alone use it.  
 
Also one about court charges we are facing and having to pay fines. We have not been charged with anything, not even a speeding or parking ticket.  
 
We don't normally answer the private numbers or funny looking numbers but the calls came in during another call and numbers don't show up on the screen while you are talking to someone else.

I call Rev Canada quite often from work so recognize the number when I see it on call display. These scammers have figured out how to have the legit Rev Can number show up on their call display to try to fool you just a little more. They work hard on their craft....
