I was talking to my hair dresser today and he was telling me that in the Philippine's they have a type of hair straightening system that gives straight hair for a year. Has anybody has this done and what was your experience? Does anybody locally do this? I had considered the Chi treatment but it's too costly and only lasts for six weeks.

Heard about this a few years ago but my thought was that as the hair grows the roots would be the natural texture so wouldn't you have to get the new growth done every month or so ? Too pricey for me!

I'm going to point out a big flaw in this thinking. The original hair that is treated *may* stay straightened for a year, but not any hair that grows in after the treatment, so you would still have to upkeep every six weeks or so.
