Wondering what type of insect is making holes on my potato and bean leaves in garden ? Definitely not potato bugs, ( haven't seen even one, thank goodness ) so curious if anyone else has this happening

We had holes eaten in some of our vegetable leaves and the only thing I can think of is cabbage butterflies. They destroyed our cabbage, a lot of beans and even cauliflower leaves.

I had this issue and they were little silver flies. They ate a lot of my leaves in my garden and I'm not sure what they are or what to do about them.

I had this issue in the beginning of growing season on all my leafy plants, but I'm fairly certain it was climbing cutworms (I hand-picked a lot of them). Sorry you're having issues. It's discouraging!  
 
Have you tried any treatment? BTK isn't cheap, but it might work. Another product that I purchased was Sevin, which I purchased at Patmore. I believe you can purchase it at Green Spot; Home Hardware or Home Depot might have it as well. Sevin is a pesticide, which I don't love using, but it is tried and true and has been used for years (my grandma used it and said she trusted that over a lot of other things). The back of the Sevin package lists many different pests it attacks.

Flea beetles? They come off of canola crops, and have done a lot of damage in my garden over the years. I have stopped trying to grow certain things because I don't use any chemicals, and the flea beetles just destroy them.

For input, the strange thing is, theres no evidense of any insect, so possibly it's a night feeder; just a thought

I had tons of damage too. I went away for a weekend and when I came back a good portion of my bean plants were decimated. All that was left of the leaves was the ribbing - they looked like lace. I had never seen damage like that before!
