New Deals For City Workers

Two city employee groups have new deals as council has approved their contracts.
56 non-union staff could get payraises of 3 and a half percent.
135 thousand dollars has been budgetted.
The second union group includes 9-1-1 and emergency dispatchers.
They'll get a 3 and a quarter percent raise in each of the 3 years of their contract, which expires in December of 09
The news tonight stated that this was approved and retroactive to Dec of 07.
This affects Management and HR positions, along with 9-1-1 and emergency dispatchers.
Do you think this is a deserved increase?
Personally I think its well deserved esp for the 9-1-1 and emergency dispatchers. Applause for those hard workers!
