Ours didn't get here, maybe the bad weather kept the postal workers at bay.

My roommate never did. Usually deposited into account on time. _ She's gonna call today to see if there was a reason she's not getting it no more.

i believe when you file your income tax in early 2017 you will at that point have to have banking info as there will no longer be mail out cheques.

july is the first month of the gst "year" so if there was any problem with your 2015 taxes, this is the first month you'll be affected. if you didnt file, or owe money to cra, you won't have received it. as others have said, sign up for direct deposit and you'll have it on the 5th (or earlier if it falls on a weekend/holiday).

wish i still qualified for that cheque!

I believe that direct deposit is optional and not mandatory.They stepped back from that.Not 100% sure but that's what I read somewhere.

July is the first month that the new year's GST is paid out. So-anyone that got the July cheque/deposit should get another in October. I got mine by first deposit yesterday.

It can take up to 10 working days for a cheque to be delivered.

They are only released for delivery on the issuance date (in this case, October 5), and then from there how soon they get delivered depends on how fast the mail system works.

And yes, direct deposit is going to be mandatory. http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/directdeposit/

Are these gst cheques that much money that folks have to count on them to survive? Think I got 1 once 25 years ago and it was $40. But I would definitely recommend direct deposit if you'd like a more regular payment. Mail is basically obsolete these days.

The GST credit is income based, so yeah, it can make a difference in the budget. I get around $250, that buys winter gear for my kids (or other seasonal expenses).

where in Brandon could I cash my gst cheque with out any hassle my CU is not open today .

I wonder if the Coop grocery store would do it ?
