how long should a child be out for until late ages 11-13 my child had some friends come over at night to see my kid could go out it was dark past 8-9 at night with all the incidents going on around brandon im not sure if they should be out late if it was late spring summer sure I would my child out longer i like when kids are out but late at night when dark no sun cold or am I a to concerned parent

I dont let them out past dark. In the summer thats obviously later but they arent in school then either.

It really depends on a variety of factors, such as how mature and responsible my child is, how responsible his friends are, how cold it is and where I live/the neighbourhood. If it was my child who is close to that age group, and his friends have been great in the past and it was this time of year and in my current neighbourhood, I would have told him if it was 8pm to be back for 9. If it was closer to 9, maybe not unless they played in the back yard. But like I said, lots of factors. My son has always been good about checking back and not going far, so it wouldn't be a huge issue for me as long as he was back when told, but I do give him a little more independence than most parents.

Only on weekends, definitely not during the week.

It def has to do with area your in, maturity of your child and his/her friends. But during the week and with the things going on I'd be pretty stead fast on the 9 pm at home curfew. Weekends home by 9 in house/yard til 10. With the kid being respectful and listening as they grow I give more time and distance. But they have to prove they understand why and what the rules are their for.

but if pitch black out at 7pm you not worried about kids getting picked on by bigger kids or adults
