Anyone know what's happening on Lorne Ave. Between about the 200 block to the 500 block?

What do you mean by police presence? Does the swat team have a house surrounded or is there police tape surrounding a house or half of the block is tapped off or multiple police cruisers with lights flashing or damaged vehicles?  
 
What ever it is I'm sure there will be something in tomorrow's police release. I'll keep my eyes open.

Brandon does not have a "S.W.A.T" team. They are called ERT.

Looking at the below police release there is no incident mentioned that occurred in the 200-500 block of Lorne last night or anywhere near that area. The domestic dispute that is mentioned in the police release happened in the 200 block of 4th at 10 in the morning. It's in that area, but unless the OP waited 11 hours to ask what was going on, it doesn't appear the incident is related.  
 
As for the whatever was going on, it could of been a sudden death or something else that was not criminal in nature or a false alarm.

Exact Samething, different name. You get the picture. It'a easier to say swat team, because everyone knows what a swat team is. Sorry if I ticked you off by calling it the wrong name. My appaualges.

there are many different names for these teams that do the same thing. And from some research, SWAT is made up of dedicated members, while ERT's are regular duty officers with the specialised training. And there are many different types of Emergency Response Teams, it's just not for policing. There are ERT's for environmental emergencies, natural disasters, search and rescue, etc..

Roadside spotcheck?

I live closer to the 500 block of Lorne Ave. It appears that the OP doesn't know the block numbers very well as I can you when I was outside briefly shortly after I saw this post lastnight, there was nothing unusual going on.  
 
Having said that, is it asking too much for the police do their thing and do it safely without the thought of bystanders crowding their space? If we need to know about it, let the media handle it or read the police report the next day. Speculating on things isn't doing any good.
