When you move above $46000 (net taxable income) you go from 15% to 20.5% tax bracket but the higher rate only applies to the income above $46000. (You always pay 15% only on the first $46000.)

Also be sure to look into volunteer opportunities. I am certain that there are many groups who would be more than happy to have you volunteer with them!

I thought I read that the federal taxable income rate was 15% and the provincial was 10 for a total of 25%? Not quite ready to volunteer want to use the extra income for travelling right now .

I'm not sure but I think it used to be that automobile dealers used to hire part-time drivers to deliver vehicles to other locations is that still the case ? This is something that I would consider . Has anyone ever done this and what type of renumeration did they offer ?

The hours can be almost.as many as you want. A normal route starts at 4 hours per day. Always looking for spare drivers. Check out the Brandon School Division Web site.

Hmmm........ A school bus with noisy screaming kids I think I'll have to take a pass on that one . Much rather deliver a nice new shiny vehicle someplace on my own .

Try stopping by each car dealership and inquire. Make sure you show up with a clean vehicle for a good first impression. Also have you ever thought about shuttle work for a seniors home or the railway workers?

Try Canada Fleet Services. I have friend in town that moves vehicles to Sask for them. They are out of Winnipeg and transport vehicles all over. However only wanting 8-12 hours is really going to limit you. Not likely many places will really want someone that wants to work so little but you might get lucky.

No I have not made up my mind I have never retired before . In fact it doesn't even have to be anything with driving it could be anything . I have been doing part-time security work for a local company the flexibility of the hours is great but it is very demanding on my back and I don't know how much longer I can do it . Driving is just something that I have done before but only with regular automobiles I do not have a class 1 or 3 licence. I was hoping that there would be more retired people on eBrandon that could share some of their part time job experiences . I can start by calling some of these auto dealers and perhaps Fleet services if they would operate out of Brandon .

I worked for We Care while I was in school and they were really good with working around my schedule. I could only do a couple of hours here and there as I was in my last year of psych nursing and couldn't handle more then that, but loved the extra money. I took people to and from appointments, grocery shopping or just for outings. The manager there is so great and worked with what I could do. You should try them

Apply at the hospital... various positions always open up for casual.... and most departments call casuals on a daily basis....

I am leaning with car delivery service with automobile dealers . Has anyone or does anyone do this currently? If so do you have any information on how it works and what you would be paid ?
