When I showed livestock there

As for suggestions, as I've said, I'm sure they would love ideas (not sure if they can accommodate them all) if you were to forward them on to the Provincial Exhibition directly (via Facebook or website - not sure if they follow on here especially this time of year)
Also the goat/sheep showing part of the industry is very small in MB much higher in SK so that would be part of it...also in this day and age, biosecurity is another issue. That is why we don't take our goats to be on display anymore...risk of bringing disease home. And again, time & money or lack of! makes it hard to take animals in to show or even display. Bio security is probably the main reason a lot of animals aren't on display or shown anymore...thinking of the rabbit & fancy bird show that used to be there... (Lots of horses get sick from being there every year)
I go mainly to visit with friends that I haven't seen in awhile and my son likes to see the animals (even tho we have most of them at home). I used to enjoy having goats there to help educate people & think the fair is great for ag education altho some of it I'd like to see changed as well. I've passed along ideas/suggestions via Facebook private messages & they do read them. " |

I didn''t make my money back on the "prize money."
I made it back (and then some!) when I sold my steers at Wednesday night sale.
Placing in the classes was important, it determined your place in the sale, and what kind of price you got.
As for year after year acts, the kids love the Superdogs, let the kids have them!
I hope the mini chuckwagon races will be part of the show.
