Setup in Hemingford, NE. Clearing off here after some thick fog. My brother has one of my scopes setup in the Bau soccer field. Hope for some clear skies in Brandon.

Nice almost all blue sky by the time you get to Oak Lake. Added a pic just taken from Oak Lake turnoff looking East to Brandon with about an hour til start

i read that we only get to see a partial eclipse?

What happens if a dog or other animal stares at an eclipse

Ive never really seen a dog to just stare up directly at the sun... Dogs are normally smarter than that. Idk why a dog would think "oh lets look up at the sun".

i was watching the eclipse on tV and they talked about this. They said you never have to worry about this as animals will never look at the sun.

I just uploaded a couple pictures from my experience in Nebraska. The experience was absolutely stunning!! The temperature dropped, then street lights came on, just the darkness that just set in. Seeing the Sun's Corona and other features not seen otherwise.  
 
The next eclipse in North America in in 2024, followed by 2 back to back ones in 2044 and 2045. The 2045 one cuts right through Albert and into Saskatchewan.

The weather turned out to be nearly perfect for today's partial Solar Eclipse! Hundreds turned out to view it from the soccer field at Brandon University's Healthy Living Centre. A big 'Thank You' to the Brandon University Astronomical Observatory for hosting this community event!

When is next eclipse?

2024 in the eastern portion on North America. Then you have to wait till 2044, 2045 for the next North American eclipses.

They happen roughly every 18 months.
