Hi, so next weekend I plan on going camping out to riding mountain area but I have a 2 stroke outboard. And I understand that most of the area is now four stroke is there anywhere that allows 2 stroke outboards?

yes only in the park is 4 stroke any were eles can be 2 stroke

What kind of 2 stroke? Is it oil injected as last I read those are still allowed. If old one like mine you are best to hit something like Ditch Lake or Sandy Lake.

Oil injected is not acceptable in Riding Mountain Park. Only four-strokes and direct injected two-strokes are allowed.

Yes please don't give false information, Oil injection does not allow you to go on the lakes in rmnp. It must be a direct injected 2 stroke or 4 stroke.

It looks like there's a real limit to where I can go boating and camping. I was thinking maybe ottar lake, unless you might know of else where?

There are still likely 15 fishable lakes within 45 mins of rmnp. Sandy lake, stuart lake, Thomas lake, little jackfish, Crawford, dummy, ditch, rossman, arrow, beufort just to name a few

Ok please tell me the difference between oil injected and direct injected. To me they are the same thing. If you have to mix your gas they are not allowed.

I say guess so you are aware I''m not an expert.  
I have a port injection system. The old type that mixes the fuel behind the carb. It burns as dirty as a tank mixed system.  
The newer direct injection into the cylinder is a computer controlled very clean burning system.  
Apologies in advance if there are clean burning port injection systems.

The 2 terms on not even related. Oil injected and direct injected. Direct injection is the way the fuel is being directly injected into the cylinder via a high pressure pump and injector (very high pressure). They run very clean. Oil injection is the way the oil is delivered to the engine, basically just a pump that pushes oil into the intake where its picked up by the gas and carried thoughout the motor. Very dirty and not efficient.  
AS to the above poster there are not any port injection systems on outboards, these would be condidered sdi motors or semi direct injection.  
So to sum things up if you own a 2 stroke and unless it has the following on the hood you are not permitted on clear lake.  
Ficht ram injection (evinrude)  
optimax (mercury)  
etec (evinrude-brp)  
hpdi (Yamaha)
