The committee of BOYD STADIUM is happy to announce that installing sod on the new fields will begin on this WEDNESDAY August 16 and will go until FRIDAY August 18.  
VOLUNTEERS are needed for the 3 days from 9am- 6pm (or when ever you can make it) to help lay the sod, and potentially save tens of thousands in labour costs, that can be used for other aspects of the project.  
Its hard to believe we broke ground less than 2 months ago and we are at this point now.  
HUGE THANKS to ALTERNATIVE LANDSCAPING and D&B Sprinklers for putting the work in and getting the project to this point in such short time.  
In order to ensure we have the fields set and ready for use next year, this time frame is critical for having all the sod in place.  
We are hoping that the people of this great community can give a little "Sweat Equity" to a project dedicated to a man who gave his ALL for the kids of this community.  
On a side note:  
Kraft Heinz Project Play close for nominations on FRIDAY August 18. Boyd Stadium has 33 nominations now and we would like to see that over 50.  
$250,000.00 would go a long way in helping us finish this amazing facility on time and budget.

We would ask that anyone volunteering please use the Simplot Millennial Park entrance off Richmond Avenue to enter and drive to the back by the maintenance shed for SMP.  
Then please walk through the back of the diamonds to the BOYD STADIUM site.  
We want to keep the BOYD STADIUM entrance free for sod trucks, work vehicles, and any emergency measures, if need be.  
There will be a table at the entrance for volunteers to get organized with the contractors so please report there first.

Lets show everyone what true community spirit is all about and help lay the foundation of these fields for generations of Westman''s kids to enjoy!!

Is very generously donating ribs, chicken wings, burgers and hot dogs for FREE to all volunteers on Thursday afternoon.  
He is donating all the food,supplies, his time to prepare it, and his amazing BBQ to cook it on.  
This is an incredibly selfless act and we thank you for this!!

To the 35 volunteers that came out today and helped lay sod.  
We are more than half way done the main field which is amazing progress according to the contractor!! WELL DONE!!  
For those that want to help but work during the day, we will be laying sod until sunset tomorrow evening.

Physical labour but I'm wondering if they need help with serving food or bringing food etc? I would be more than happy to help with that sort of thing you could let me know. I don't mind cooking up something and bringing it or making sandwiches or whatever you might need in that department
