Pretty sure my door bell was rang around 4 am this morning! Woke me and my little one and scared me half to death! Hubby slept right through of course lol! Anyone else have this happening right now? I obviously didn't answer based on the time of the caller!

Scared half to death because your door bell rang at a late hour? What happens if your phone rings then? Sheer panic? It's a large town aka city with lots of people up at all hours of the day and night, and you have a door bell. Maybe someone needed help, had a flat tire and forgot their cell phone ? Or just some kids playing games ( kids as in teens or early 20 somethings)

Or someone who had the wrong house. I used to live in an area where every weekend without fail some lady would ring my doorbell around 3am drunk thinking my house was hers and she would be freaking out because she was "locked out of her own house". That lasted a whole summer and then just stopped. So she either moved or finally realized which house was hers even though she was 10 houses away.

Only reason I asked was because I had a friend in the same end of town also have a midnight bell ring! They also didn't answer the door! I personally would be worried about someone forcing their way into my home or a potential robber! I'm such a worst case worrier lol! Thanks all for the input! Obviously just a random act!

This has happened to Afew people in the west end also. Usually 11pm to 3 am. we have seen them young kids running away in the shadows of the street lights. I agree it's not safe to just go opening your door at night when you don't know who it is or what they want. I'm a worst case worrier too.. haven't we all seen shows like criminal minds lol. Intruders use hoaxes all the time!! For personal safely and for your family I would be the same way as you and not open the door!! If someone was yelling for help then I would honestly probably just call the cops/911 let them handle it...

Years ago Dad went to the front door where the window was open, a 'lady' wanted to use the phone, uh....no. Especially after she told him 'I won't stab you'. Close the doors and ground floor windows to be on the safe side.

I do not answer the door in the middle of the night. That is how home invasions happen-you open the door and someone forces their way in. Highly doubtful anyone would be wanting help here-in this day of cell phones we don't get that any more. Anyone knocks they will hear my dogs and decide to go away rather than try to come in on their own. and

This is in the west end of town and we to are close to the bar! It's just such a quiet neighborhood (believe it or not) that things like this never ever happen! Certainly a bit of a startle when it does happen!
