Riverheights drive paddling pool upgrades.... time to revitalize!?  
 
Just wanted to see what other people's opinions are with this hidden park...  
 
do you think it would be worth it for the community/city to upgrade the pool area and make it into more of a splash park?  
 
What about adding a fenced dog park area there as well. There is so much green space in the south/west corner....

it's got clean bathrooms, lots of shade, a new playstructure. it's a great paddle pool! would love to see it open weekends though

Unfortunately it is only open weekdays during office hours, otherwise we would probably hangout there every weekend because it's close to home and a really nice park/playground.

I Agree the playground part is nicely updated. I was just meaning the pool itself. Like if they could add a few more water features like the other splash parks have. And yes we wish the hours were better too.

I remember when Sherri Deckter Hirst was running for mayor the first time, and I went to a session with her. She mentioned that the master plan was basically to create "hubs" for water features and slowly eliminate the others. This plan predated her. If you notice, all the other stand-alone pools have been ripped out (2 in the last year). Once the pool has outlived it's life, probably in the next couple of years, I will expect it will be demolished like the others.  
 
But we love Riverheights pool! I wish it was used more to show the city that community spaces like that are useful, instead of relying on "hubs" that everyone has to drive to.
