Thanks for the update Grandmama. I don't know where the law ends and perhaps just moral obligation starts in these situations but it looks like Browns Restaurant Group is really respecting folks' dollars if your experience is any indication.  
 
Regarding the post above and proximity of Blu to Browns, I would take it as a pure guess based on what appears to be good general knowledge of how franchises work. I can't say that its a bad guess as it does seem logical, but without knowledge of how Browns writes up their agreements its hard to say if it had anything to do with things here. From the other side of the coin, I've talked to others that have been involved with franchises in the past (not the franchise from this situation and not the entrepreneur from this situation) and it does sound like many franchises can have very strict boundaries that can restrict creativity and ambition of those operating the local outlet. There are normally very logical reasons for those boundaries to ensure franchise consistency with the formula that's been signed onto, but not everyone is suited for or at their best in that environment. I dont know about everyone else, but for myself I dont necessarily know if I like something until I try it. In the other past case I can think of where I heard that feedback about the franchise environment, the franchisee sold the local franchise and moved onto other endeavours but perhaps that was not an option here.  
 
Very possible that with both franchisee and franchise taking the high road that what we've seen from them on the topic is all we'll ever see (or all there is to see?).

Fwiw you can pay as much as $16 for Mac N Cheese across the street at Joe Beeverz... granted that's a full portion main with meat. I've had some awesome mac cheese at restaurants that has me wishing I paid more for more and at other restaurants I've had some pretty basic stuff that I could've made at home. Personally at least it's hard to know if any given restaurant trends one way or the other unless I've tried it.

Re the meat question above, teriyaki rice bowl comes with choice of beef, chicken or tofu. Pad Thai meat info not available, I’d assume they’d give you a choice but it’s not clear what would be included. I want to be as fair as I can be and I’ll email the owner at the addresses on file that I know have worked in the past... but it would be breaking a trend for me to get a reply.  
 
One thing with a new restaurant is to remember that like really any new business, in the early days there will be initial kinks to work out as they get staff into the systems that they're wanting, as they adapt to any tweaks that they feel are necessary, etc. Wouldn't be surprised to see a future menu update clarify the meat point on that item.

As per sign on the door, looks like they’re back open today after closing for Sunday and Monday. Curious to hear from anyone that’s given it a try. Any clarification on how sides work? Have there been any menu updates since that very first menu that was out?
