I'm curious...what is the current/correct name of the Brandon Airport? I have not been north on #10 highway for awhile, but at one time there was a sign directing people to McGill Field (the airport). I have also heard it referred to as Brandon Municipal Airport and more recently, as evacuees arrived and departed from our city, as the Brandon Flight Centre. A quick check online at Canada411 and a look through the hard copy telephone directory and all that is listed is Brandon Airport. Possibility of 4 different names - which one is correct?

I think it can go by any one of those names. I would say the official name is Brandon Municipal Airport, McGill Field. Just like Winnipeg is called "Winnipeg International Airport", "Winnipeg Airport", "Winnipeg Richardson International Airport." Any of those names will get you to the same place.

My vote is Brandon Municipal Airport.

the airport was named after a man named McGill to honour him. That's how it should be referred to, McGill Field.  
 
Can anyone chip in with some history on Mr. McGill?
